Show You Suck -All Chill Everything

Spotlive Presents “An After School Special”

Many things can be said about ShowYouSuck, unawesome, is not one of them. ShowYouSuck is definitely a name and face you need to know and hate with love. The Chicago emcee may be one of the next big things to hit the stage lyrically. With songs about partying hipster zombie chicks, sounds of Southern trill and De La Sol undertones, and vast references to music be it from Slayer to Wu-tang to Deerhoof you’re guaranteed to like his music. With his new album “Coyote Del Coco” coming out (find on 4/20 at rubyhornet.com) Spotlive Presents gives the hometown homie a stamp of approval and recommends you start following him….just not in real life, because he has WAY too many stories of such.

Spotlive’s Long Distance Phone Call

We’re all about putting Chicago on at Spotlive HQ but we do acknowledge there is dope stuff going on 24/7 outside of the state that remains ill in noise, so to do our best in covering dope artists far and wide we present to you our “Long Distance Phone Call” segment.

Shad, yet another dope emcee from Canada aside from the well known K-OS, is someone to definitely listen to, and it shouldn’t be hard. Lyrically inclined and just as energetic, this witty emcee provides really dope songs with a multitude of flavor thats hard to muster up for most. With that said enjoy his official video ” Yaa I Get It”

And tell us what you think.

This is Spotlive saying “Spread the word like germs”

Good Morning! And  what a way to start off the morning. Just Jay of 1773 keeps the Chi city relevant in Hip Hop music today with his new video and our Spotlive Music Drop. Numerous Illinoian cameos are made by lyrical homies State Champs, 1773, and Vertual Vertigo to show support of friend and musical peer Just Jay. Vertual Vertigo's Ezekiel38 Releases Solo Mixtape Comprised of Excellence. click here to get a free preview

eze mix

Ezekiel38 of Vertual Vertigo has outdone himself with his new “Sound of the Zeeker” Mixtape. With mixing done by the DMC’s (The World DJ Championship) 1st place winner DJ SIGHT of Austria, the smooth stylings of Ezekiel38’s lyrics and production are given a more agressive mood through cuts, lyrical loops, and scratches over jazz styled beats.

But what would even a solo mixtape be without fan favorite cameos? Squadmates  Cerebral Vortex, Just Jay, Wisdm one, Nick Arcade, Johnny Redd, Japandrew, 8bit, suff daddy, kompact, and mono massive make subtle appearances throughout the mixtape to help drop knowledge of their own and give the solo project a more unique dynamic leaving listeners with the impression that this isn’t just another mixtape…because it definitely isn’t.

The virtualvertigo.bandcamp.com page lets listeners be the judge and determine if the sounds are worth their money as the entire mixtape allows the public to get a FREE listen..

So if you have freetime on your hands …Even if you don’t, we at Spotlive Presents give our stamp of approval on this mixtape drop as a must listen……So what are you waiting for?

Chicago3Media.Com Interviews Miranda Govea of Spotlive Presents and Gives A Sneak Peek on Whats to Come for the Whoevers and Caught In Your Pockets This Year. Click Here to View

Recently Suzanne Miller of Chicago3Media, a Chicago based entertainment coverage company, met up with Miranda Govea of Spotlive Presents to give the public a more in depth look at what motivates Spotlive and the goals of the company.

Black’s Thoughts at Chicago’s The Mid

We here at Spotlive have been having a very busy and equally dope weekend. With upcoming shows being booked to bring you new and upcoming artist’s we down here at headquarters also like to stay relevant on music shows so it doesn’t feel like you or yours missed much ….even if you did.

Root’s lyricist Black thought performed tonight at Chicago’s bar The Mid. With doors opening at 10 we reluctantly arrived at 12. Luckily though we we’re able to catch the middle of emcee Add-2’s set. With right hand man Slot-A and  special guest drummer Mike Curran (drummer cameo week i guess) assisting, the Spotlive members couldn’t help but to feel like they missed a truly dope opening of the night’s show.

DJ Demchuk had the wheels made of steel going round and round for avid Hip Hop heads with his playlist of artist such as Wu tang, M.O.P, and Gang Starr.

As the hour struck 1:00 a.m. The Roots front man Black Thought approached the stage. As he began Performing with DJ J.Period, Mr. Thought performed original verses over favorite hometown produced beats, The Roots classics, and even the newest material of Thought’s personal project yet to be released.

Thought’s solo show exemplified one major thing tonight at the Chicago Mid and that thing was that oxygen need not be necessary when you are Black Thought. Multiple 16 bar verses were hurled at the audience with what seemed to be no sign of inhalation from Thought and for that we at Spotlive thank him for what can be considered by scientists as an immortal technique.

-This is Spotlive saying, ” Happy journey to all and to all good music!”

Yelawolf Kills at Reggie’s With Special Guest

As the doors opened at 8 the venue filled with much anticipation of the Deer Shooting Alabama Rapper. With the “wafflegang” Alumni Awdazate hosting and DJ Stefan Ponce on the tables the night went as smooth as possible as Awdazate kept the crowd involved and Ponce continued cut classics rolling in front of a sea of anxious fans.

Dave Coresh kept the fanatic’s energy exhausted with head nods and raised hands as he did a killer opening for Yelawolf. As 11:30 struck the clock the crew began to set up.

With mic stand, setlist, turntables, and drumset finally intact the crowd’s chants for Yelawolf grew louder and louder until finally the man of the night burst on the stage to rushing fans and much Chicago love. The Rock Club roared with Southern Rap and cheers as “Yela” delivered a high energy set wearing a fan donated Derrick Rose Bulls’ Jersey.

But what was the drumset for? Special Guest Travis Barker made a surprise appearance to close out the headliner’s night performing the percussions of Yelawolf’s “Pop The Trunk” . The night ended with much satisfaction and not a dissapointed fan insight. Shout out from Spotlive to YM! Present’s Zack Eastman for Putting the Show together

Lupe Clears The Air

Despite his own personal loathing for his recent album, Sales for Lupe Fiasco’s “Lasers”, have been booming. The first week of “Lasers” release landed Lupe in the number one spot of the billboard charts ending Adele’s reign since her album release titled “21”. But Last Saturday, March 26th, fans received what would be considered as more of a brush off than a thank you at his sold out House Of Blues Release Party. After an almost two hour wait The star arrived, performed a 20 minutes set, thanked everyone for coming, and exited the stage. Needless to say many of the artist’s followers were left with a sour taste in their mouths and the feeling of a lack of appreciation from the Midwest lyricist. The next day the artist made sure to clarify the misunderstanding in a series of posts,

“To be clear to everyone that attended the House Of Blues Lasers release thing in Chicago. It was Never supposed to be a show… The promoters didn’t stress to the public the fact that it was supposed to just be a party.

“I had NO hand in organizing the event. Nor did my team. I don’t even know who the other performers were until the night before the event.” He continues, “As far as me being late I literally drove about 6 hours to get there and I ran out of gas around Springfield!!!! Shout to Aaa (car rescue service) 4 the save!!!

“But anyways my name was on it so I’ll take the “L” (blame) and rest assured that it will Never EVER happen again. I love my fans. I’m sorry u guys had to go thru some BS (bulls**t). Again me and my crew had Nothing to do w/ (with) how the event was ran or organized. Also all the money for the event from my side is and always was going to be donated to charity so at least for me it was a free event.”

To appease the fans of the misunderstanding the company responsible for throwing the show and coordinating the event are refunding tickets until April 1st.
